Albert de Haan has over 27 years of experience in Forex trading and financial market advisory roles. He served as Managing Director at Fortis Carbon Bank and co-founded the European Climate Exchange (ECX) in 2004, which grew to become the largest carbon exchange globally. In 2009, he established his own carbon company, Carbon Rooster BV.

Since then, he has been involved in various projects for EBRD (Turkey) and the World Bank/IFC in China, assisting Carbon Pilots in starting carbon emissions trading platforms. He also served as an advisor to UNOPS for the development of the carbon market in Vietnam.

Since the EU's initiation of the Fuel Quality Directive, he has initiated a new Emission Trading activity, offering Upstream Emission Reductions.

In October 2023, he co-founded the ETS Navigator platform, a venture with DockLab, 100% owned by the Port of Rotterdam. This dedicated maritime sector platform assists in MOHA to EUA procurement and is dedicated to serving all involved in the new EU Maritime compliance market.
