Michael LaFleur
Vice President Maritime & Facilities Port of San Diego
Mike LaFleur has served as the Vice President of Maritime at the Port of San Diego since October 2019. In this capacity, he oversees the Port’s maritime portfolio, which encompasses cargo, cruise, commercial fishing, and maritime industrial infrastructure, along with business development and operations. Additionally, he manages the General Services department, ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of the Port’s facilities and infrastructure.
Before joining the Port, LaFleur held the roles of CEO and COO in multiple Seacor companies, leading operations in areas such as oil, container shipping, RORO, inland shipping, terminals, trucking, warehousing, and logistics. Earlier in his career, LaFleur sailed with Chevron and Military Sealift Command, advancing to the position of Chief Officer while transporting cargo around the world.
LaFleur holds a USCG Unlimited Master's license and a degree in Marine Transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. He also served honorably as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy Reserves. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time on the waterfront, sport fishing, and creating a sustainable marine environment.
