Edi Cioran
CEO DP World Antwerp
Edi Cioran is the CEO of DP World’s Ports and Terminals in Antwerp and in this role, he leads the strategic management of a suite of port and logistics services. Having joined DP World over 21 years ago at its first European operation in Constanta as Operations Manager he then moved on to Dubai to become Global Operations Efficiency Manager. In this role Edi implemented best practices and continuous improvement processes for safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency across DP World’s global portfolio of ports and terminals.
Edi returned to DP World Constanta as the Managing Director, where he led a strategy that resulted in growth in turnover, profitability and market share of the largest container terminal in the Black Sea. He then became the Regional Operations Director for Europe for eight years and more recently he served as CEO of DP World France, where he implemented a service diversification strategy which resulted in increased Breakbulk and Project cargo volumes as well as new Ro-Ro traffic.
Edi Cioran’s 33 years’ experience in the maritime and logistics sectors also includes senior management positions at leading companies like A.P. Moller–Maersk and APM Terminals. He holds a BA in Economics from the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies and has earned certifications from the Institute of Directors (IoD) in London.
