The Port of Raahe is one of the busiest ports in Finland.
Approximately 600 vessels call at the Port of Raahe every year. The port has been a hub for year-round maritime transport for over 40 years. The Port of Raahe consists of three different ports: SSAB, Deep-water Port and Lapaluoto.
Various raw materials, bulk cargo, steel, timber and containers are shipped to and from the Port of Raahe, in addition to individual project consignments, including wind turbine components.
The highly specialised global steel conglomerate SSAB Europe operates a major steelworks in Raahe. Imports to and exports from the steelworks guarantee a steady stream of cargo through the port all year round.
One of the major advantages of the Port of Raahe is its excellent location as a logistics hub. Raahe is located close to Highway 8 and on an electrified railroad.
The Port of Raahe wants to support the Finnish national carbon neutrality goals through its operations.
