The largest general port in the Bothnian Bay provides service in the most rapidly growing city in northern Europe. All three harbours of the Port of Oulu–Oritkari, Nuottasaari and VihreƤsaari–are open 24/7, all year round. Containers and forest industry products are mainly handled in Oritkari. Raw materials for the forest industry are processed in Nuottasaari. Liquid fuels and bulk products are handled in VihreƤsaari. The draft of the channel leading to the port of Oulu is 12.50 m (since 2018). Port of Oulu owns large areas of land around it. Therefore, the port of Oulu has excellent opportunities to take into account the needs of customers by adapting the storage and processing halls. Oulu port has a total of 1,460 m of quays. There are further connections from the port of Oulu both by road and rail.
