The Ports of Boulogne and Calais form a key European logistics hub, strategically located at the closest point between the UK and mainland Europe, at the crossroads of major maritime, road, and rail routes. While not exclusively specialized in bulk and general cargo, the port provides adapted infrastructure, modern handling equipment, and available space to efficiently support these traffics.
It can accommodate vessels up to Panamax size. Operations are driven by internationally recognized stevedoring companies such as M\&L, Sea-Invest, and Eurodocks, ensuring high productivity and reliability. Strong intermodal connectivity enables seamless supply chains.
The port is also a leader in cross-Channel traffic and Europe’s foremost seafood processing hub. From June 2026, a new daily RoRo service between Boulogne and Cork (Ireland) will further enhance connectivity and trade opportunities.
