  • Ports & Terminals

The Port of Riga is Latvia’s largest and most diversified port, offering extensive cargo handling options and strong investment potential. Located in the center of the Baltic States, it serves as an efficient multimodal hub with well-developed connections to the EU, Northern Europe and Eurasia.

The port accommodates Panamax and post-Panamax vessels (up to 15 m draft and 320 m length) and prioritizes technological advancement. In 2025, it handled 16.8 million tons of cargo — around 50% of Latvia’s total seaborne cargo — with capacity for further growth. The Port of Riga, as a multifunctional port, handles a wide range of cargo, including containers, timber, agricultural goods, metals, fertilizers and oil products, as well as oversized shipments.

The port offers land for new terminals, logistics, production and renewable energy projects. Its special economic zone provides tax benefits and long-term lease options, supported by the Freeport of Riga Authority.
