Port of Viana do Castelo
Located in the northwest of Portugal, on the Atlantic coast, the port performs its activities on both banks of the Lima river. The Commercial port located on the left bank of the Lima river, has a installed capacity to process about 1 thousand tons of cargo/year, being accessible to ships of up to 8 metres draft and 200 metres long.

It consists of two sections of pier with a total length of 487 metres, equipped with high-capacity cranes, with a Roll-On/Roll-Off terminal and offers large areas for parking and storage of goods. It offers excellent conditions for maritime accessibility, tranquility and shelter within the port, and a free and safe entry into the bar channel. Designed for handling different types of cargo, the current port traffic structure is predominantly composed of general break-bulk and solid bulk cargo.

Over recent years, a cruise line has been calling the port, proving its ability and potential to meet the requirements of demand in this tourism market segment. The actual port of Viana do Castelo is therefore characterized by four features - commercial, industrial, fisheries and nautical sports.
