Event To Capitalize on Region’s Energy Project Market
Breakbulk Events & Media, organizer of the world’s largest exhibitions for the project cargo and breakbulk industry, today announced the launch of Breakbulk Asia, taking place on 18-19 November 2026 at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
The event answers rising demand for a central platform connecting global and regional project stakeholders across Asia’s fast-growing energy and infrastructure markets.
With Jurong Port as the official host port, Breakbulk Asia will be anchored in one of the world’s leading logistics and financial hubs. Singapore already serves as a base for international infrastructure investment and is actively funding sustainable energy solutions across the region.
“We are delighted to welcome Breakbulk Asia to Singapore,” said Poh Chi Chuan, executive director, exhibitions and conferences at the Singapore Tourism Board.
“The project cargo industry plays an important role in supporting Asia’s growth, and this event reinforces Singapore’s position both as a leading MICE destination and as a global maritime and logistics hub. Singapore’s strategic location, combined with its excellent infrastructure and vibrant city offerings, creates the ideal environment for industry professionals to forge global partnerships and advance industry innovation and sustainability. We look forward to hosting delegates in November 2026.”
Singapore offers a strategic base for companies doing business with emerging Southeast Asian markets and mature project markets such as Japan, South Korea and China, which are among Asia’s top investors in global energy and infrastructure projects.
As the region’s financial hub, Singapore provides the ideal setting for Breakbulk Asia, where tailored programming will leverage this strength – facilitating high-level connections, unlocking project insights, and driving commercial opportunities across the project cargo supply chain.
“As Singapore grows its role as a critical connector in Asia’s logistics ecosystem, Breakbulk Asia presents a timely platform to deepen knowledge exchange and build regional partnerships in project logistics,” said Dave Ng, chairman of the Singapore Logistics Association.
“It will enhance collaboration, unlock commercial opportunities, and support our logistics community in scaling capabilities amid expanding ASEAN corridors and rising infrastructure demand across Asia.”
With support from regional industry groups and business networks, the event is set to become a vital meeting point for the Asian project cargo sector.
“Asia is where demand is growing fastest and where the gaps between project owners and service providers are widest,” said Ben Blamire, event director. “Breakbulk Asia is designed to close those gaps through expert-led sessions focused on regional market insight, high-level networking between shippers and service providers, and direct opportunities to initiate new business partnerships.”
Singapore’s influence has never been stronger. Ranked No. 1 in the IMD World Competitiveness Index, the country is the region’s top financial center and a global maritime hub. Investments in energy, green hydrogen and logistics infrastructure are accelerating, with Southeast Asia expected to see over US$100 billion in new oil and gas projects by 2030, and US$250 billion in renewables across Asia-Pacific by 2035.
As part of the development of Breakbulk Asia, the team recently travelled to Singapore and held meetings with regional stakeholders, including the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry.
“We discussed how Singapore and Indonesia – already close partners – can expand collaboration in energy transition, infrastructure development and industrial investment,” said Jessica Dawnay, portfolio director for Breakbulk. “It’s just one example of our commitment to understanding the market and producing an event that reflects the region’s priorities.”
“Singapore is an ideal location to bring key regional project partners together,” said John Pittalis, global head of marketing and communications at AAL Shipping (AAL). “It is an established business and trading hub for the corridor between Asia, Australia and key markets to the West and Breakbulk Asia will provide a strong networking platform for our regional stakeholders across the supply chain.”
Breakbulk Asia is supported by many of the world’s leading ports, marine transport and forwarding companies, including AAL, Abu Dhabi Ports, DP World, DHL Industrial Projects and MSC. All are looking to expand partnerships with EPCs, energy companies and industrial manufacturers in the region.
“Our members span the Asian region and are eager for a more targeted event in this part of the world,” said Luzius Haffter, executive director of Global Projects Logistics Network (GPLN). “Breakbulk Asia provides that opportunity – with a high-quality venue, strong international visibility and access to local partners, which is essential for securing contracts and building long-term business in key Asian markets.”
“Breakbulk Asia brings a blend of Breakbulk proven favorites, such as our Women in Breakbulk program, Education Day, editorial coverage through Breakbulk Magazine, and on-site interviews from Breakbulk Studios, together with a fresh menu of programming tailored for this region,” said Leslie Meredith, product director for Breakbulk Events & Media.
“Every element is designed to be useful, targeted and relevant for companies looking to be part of the energy project scene in Asia.”
