The world’s largest project cargo and breakbulk event

FAQ - Your Questions Answered

Can I still join CONNECT21?
Yes, you can. The platform will remain open through the end of the year. All sessions and other videos are now available to watch as replays. You can also network on the platform by chatting with other participants, including over 100 Breakbulk Europe 2022 exhibitors, and expressing interest in companies and attendees. Now that the live week of the event is over, you can use the platform meet new business contacts and then schedule meetings on your own video conference platform like Microsoft Teams.

What is CONNECT21 and how is it different from the Europe Digital Special held last fall?
CONNECT21 was created to bring the project cargo and breakbulk community – worldwide – together in the absence of Breakbulk Europe 2021. With more than 121 countries represented at the 2019 event, our goal is reach as many companies as possible in all parts of the world to mirror the international participation seen at Breakbulk Europe and give all participants an opportunity to hear about new business opportunities for a post-Covid recovery. Further, we knew it was critical to provide a platform for participants to connect around these opportunities, so unlike the previous digital specials, CONNECT21 offers the ability to connect with others and schedule meetings, much like you would at an in-person event.

Why should I participate in CONNECT21?
Joining CONNECT21 opens the door to networking to a global group of companies that could mean new business opportunities for you, including cargo owners, ocean carriers, ports and terminals, project forwarders, equipment providers, specialized transport providers and other industry services. Further, you will see a series of industry insight sessions focused on business opportunities, market trends and issues critical to future business.

Who can participate in CONNECT21?
CONNECT21 is open to all professionals involved in the transport and logistics of project cargo and breakbulk cargo, as well as project owners, EPCs, industrial manufacturers, analysts who cover project markets and media outlets. We want to make it easy to connect all parts of the industrial supply chain with one another to network, find answers and new business opportunities.

Does it cost to participate?
Absolutely not! You may register for free and then access the industry insight sessions, network with others and schedule meetings with those company representatives that interest you.

How do I register?
Simply visit the CONNECT21 registration page, fill out the form and submit it. You will receive a confirmation with login details.

When should I register?
To get the most out of CONNECT21 be sure to register before Wednesday, 5 May. This is the day that you will be able to log in to CONNECT21, set up your profile, add sessions to your calendar, express interest in other companies and send out and respond to meeting requests. If you're seeing this after 5 May, don't worry. You may register at any time leading up to and during the event itself. A word of caution: if you wait until the last minute before a session you want to attend starts, there may be a delay, so do give yourself extra time if you can.

When will the sessions be aired and what topics will be covered?
The industry insight sessionsran on Wednesday and Thursday, 19-20 May and they are all available to watch as replays. Visit the CONNECT21 agenda page for details. There will also be a series of on-demand sessions that you can also watch at your convenience.

What is the difference between an attendee and an exhibitor within the platform?
Attendees are individuals who can network and meet with any other users on the platform. Exhibitors are grouped by company with a dedicated company page. Here, exhibitors are those companies that will be exhibiting at Breakbulk Europe 2022 in Rotterdam. CONNECT21 offers a preview of the companies who will be present at the 2022 event and the opportunity to connect well in advance of the show scheduled for 17-19 May 2022 at Rotterdam Ahoy.

As an exhibitor, how many team members can join CONNECT21?
As an exhibitor in CONNECT21 you will have a company profile and you will be able to register up to 10 company representatives to schedule meetings with other users on the platform. Company meeting information is easily visible to your team. Further, your company will see a real-time list of inbound leads and be able to easily connect with interested colleagues.

How does registration work for exhibitors?
Each exhibitor's operations contact will receive instructions from our Customer Sussess team, including a request for your listing materials. These materials will be used for CONNECT21 profile and for the exhibitor list on the Breakbulk Europe website. The listings will be uploaded to the platform  and then your administrator will be able to add media and other information, along with up to 10 team members, the primary contacts for your company. All other company representatives should register through the main registration page.

Why only 10 representatives per exhibiting company?
The 10 representative limit will help users schedule meetings so that they don’t have to scroll through too many reps to find who’d they’d like to meet with. Any representatives not included in the official 10 can still register and set up meetings and enjoy the industry insight sessions.

When can I start sending meeting requests?
All participants can send meeting requests beginning on Wednesday, 5 May. Participants can choose to accept or decline each request.

When can meetings be held?
You can schedule meetings from 8:00 to 18:00 BST, Monday - Friday, 17-21 May 2021.

What type of meeting is it?
When a user schedules a meeting with another user, the two will meet in a virtual meeting room and it will be a video call.

I am interested in exhibiting at Breakbulk Europe 2022 - what should I do?
Currently, our 2020 exhibitors are in the process of selecting their stands at Rotterdam Ahoy. Once they have done so, we will open the exhibition to new exhibitors, which is scheduled for June of this year. To secure your place on the waiting list, fill out the interest form and a sales team member will be in contact with you.

Are there any advertising opportunities in CONNECT21?
Yes! You may book an advertisement that will run in rotation on throughout the event. Space is limited, so we encourage you to check availability and book as soon as possible. You may also provide a company video as part of the CONNECT21 on-demand offering. If you're interested in one or both of these options, submit your request by filling out the form on the CONNECT21 Sponsorships page.
