Best. Breakbulk. Ever.

In a significant milestone, Breakbulk Europe, the world's largest trade event for the project cargo and breakbulk industry, will mark its 20th anniversary with a series of exciting changes. Scheduled to take place at the Rotterdam Ahoy from 13-15 May 2025, the event will be a full three-day showcase of innovation, networking and industry insights.

Responding to valuable feedback from attendees and exhibitors, Breakbulk Europe 2025 will break new ground by extending its opening hours to include a full day on Tuesday, expanding the event into a three-day exhibition. This change comes as a direct response to the industry's call for more time to engage, network, and conduct business.

“After collaboration from Hyve and the organizing committee, the new evolved conference format for 2025 will allow more opportunities for valuable networking, education and engagement. This will undoubtably provide exhibitors, delegates and attendees the opportunities for more productive interaction and provide greater value to the attending breakbulk community,” said Tim Killen, Head of Growth – Project Sector, Fracht Group.

“The consensus from last year’s participants was that they wanted more time and less hassle, so that’s exactly what we’ve designed into the 2025 event,” Elizabeth Rankin, event director for Breakbulk Europe said.

In anticipation of a record-breaking number of exhibitors from across the supply chain — including carriers, forwarders, ports and terminals, equipment providers, and specialized transporters by air, road, barge, maritime and rail, as well as a vast array of service providers — a new hall will be added. Located adjacent to Hall 2 at the front of Ahoy, this not only provides more room for exhibitors but opens the entire entrance to Breakbulk. Enter Ahoy and you'll be inside the world of project cargo shipping and logistics.

Breakbulk Europe 2025 will introduce "Superhighways." These wider aisles, strategically placed along key access points throughout the venue, are designed to ease the flow for the increased number of attendees. The Superhighways will enable attendees to efficiently navigate the event, easily locate exhibitors and find direct routes to popular features like the Main Stage and Breakbulk Futures.

“Our team is already working on ways to deliver more networking opportunities by expanding offerings that have proved valuable to attendees, such as a more extensive Round Table program as well as the addition of a Women in Breakbulk lounge to the show floor,” Rankin said. “Without a doubt, there will be some surprises as well – it’s not every year we celebrate a 20th anniversary.”

As it marks two decades of industry leadership and collaboration, Breakbulk Europe 2025 is poised to be the best edition yet — a testament to its enduring importance in the project cargo and breakbulk industry.

“Breakbulk Europe has developed into a truly global event and has proven to be a pillar for industry experts to meet and network. Extending the conference duration will foster this achievement and lead to an even more successful future of the event,” Carsten Wendt, Head of Sales – High & Heavy and Breakbulk, Wallenius Wilhelmsen.
