C Teleport’s Smart Platform Powers Crew Mobility

Marie-Clare Boyes Discusses Company’s Mission to Simplify Travel Management

C Teleport is revolutionizing crew travel management with a smart, user-friendly platform that lets businesses easily book, change or cancel flights and hotels. A first-time exhibitor at Breakbulk Europe, the company is increasingly supporting sectors such as mining, oil and gas, power, and renewables. We sat down with Marie-Clare Boyes, C Teleport's sales director for marine, oil and gas, to learn how the Rotterdam-based company is transforming travel for complex, global operations.

Q:
The maritime and breakbulk industries still rely heavily on outdated workflows, such as email chains and disconnected platforms. What are the biggest challenges you see in travel management for these sectors?

MCB: The biggest challenge is finding a way to modernize without “breaking” daily operations. These industries are large and complex, and many processes were built years ago. Changing them isn’t easy, especially when things still “work.” We see this a lot in crew travel. Flight bookings are often done by email or phone through a travel agent, usually under time pressure or outside regular working hours. When plans change due to port delays, medical emergencies, or visa issues, the rebooking process is slow and messy. Everyone involved, port agents, manning agencies, and HR, tends to use their own tools or spreadsheets. That creates duplication, errors, and miscommunication. Often, no one has a clear view of costs, crew availability, or compliance in real time.

There are a few reasons this keeps happening. Many companies stick to old processes because they’re familiar. New platforms don’t always connect well with existing crewing systems like COMPAS or Adonis. Data is often scattered across systems, so it’s hard to automate or get reliable insights. Lastly, crew managers are used to handling things manually and worry about losing control or being replaced. In the end, the problem isn’t just one step in the process, it’s the whole set-up. Which is exactly what makes travel so hard to manage, especially when it needs to be fast, accurate, and cost-efficient.

Q: How does C Teleport’s platform simplify the booking, changing and cancellation of travel arrangements compared to traditional methods?

MCB: Customers consistently tell us that C Teleport has transformed the way they manage travel, especially when it comes to saving time and staying flexible. For example, one crewing manager with decades of experience told us that before using C Teleport, flight bookings involved going back and forth with travel agencies, comparing quotes manually, and waiting for confirmations. It was time-consuming and often tied them to a desk. Now, they can book and change flights instantly, from their computer or phone, whether they’re at the supermarket or out for a walk. That level of flexibility and control is a game-changer for people who need to respond quickly to crew changes or last-minute disruptions.

Others highlight how intuitive the platform is. The ability to compare options and make fast, confident decisions, without relying on a middleman, makes a big difference. And the mobile app makes it even easier to manage everything on the go. Many also mention that combining flight and hotel bookings into one streamlined platform helps them save time and reduce hassle. Instead of juggling multiple tools, they can plan entire trips in one place.

Across the board, customers appreciate how C Teleport gives them back control, saves them hours of manual work, and supports them with responsive customer service when they need it. For many, it’s not just a tool, it’s become an essential part of how they operate.

Q: Can you share any success stories or real-life examples?

MCB: Yes, several companies in maritime and shipping have already seen measurable impact. Fugro shared how the platform made their crew changes easier across global operations. What used to involve different tools and teams is now handled in one place, which saves them time and reduces back-and-forth. They noted that the interface is easy to use, so their coordinators picked it up quickly. It also helped different departments work better together. With large volumes and frequent changes, this made a big difference in their day-to-day work.

Blue Planet Shipping highlighted the ease of booking both flights and hotels on a single platform. They find the platform easy to use and reliable. The mobile app helps them manage changes quickly, even during unexpected travel issues. They also noted the responsiveness of the support team, which adds confidence to their day-to-day operations. Rederi AB Väderö Tank reported that C Teleport transformed how they handle crew travel and vessel data. They now complete tasks in fewer steps and have all information up to date automatically in a centralized dashboard. By moving away from manual coordination, some customers have reported saving up to 75% of the time they previously spent on daily travel management tasks.

Q: How does C Teleport integrate with existing systems that shipping and logistics companies use?

MCB: Most companies already work with tools for crew planning, HR, finance, and reporting. The challenge is making those tools work together, without adding more complexity. That’s why C Teleport is built to connect with the systems teams already use, not replace them. It already works with software like Cloud Fleet Manager and COMPAS. Still, the goal isn’t to stop at big names. The aim is to connect with any system a company relies on.

If a system can send or receive data, C Teleport can connect to it. Once connected, booking data flows automatically between systems – no double entry, no switching tabs, no delays. This is possible because C Teleport connects via web services or APIs. A customer shares an endpoint, and data can be pushed or pulled in the format they prefer. The benefit is a smoother workflow: fewer mistakes, faster coordination, and one consistent view across planning, travel, and costs.

Q: What advancements or new features can we expect from C Teleport in the near future?

MCB: One key area of focus is faster, easier integration. Travel operations often involve multiple systems – crew planning, HR, finance – and they rarely connect well. That gap creates delays, errors, and extra admin. The aim is to remove that friction by making it possible to connect with any system a company uses within a day. No complex set-up. No workarounds. Just a direct link between travel bookings and the tools already in place.

Another priority is better reporting. When companies handle hundreds or thousands of crew changes a month, travel spend adds up fast. Without clean data, correct categorization, and real-time visibility, it’s hard to stay in control. Direct connections with tools like Power BI will give teams one clear view across all travel activity, by vessel, project, or team. These improvements will help companies gain more control over budgets, track spending, and make better decisions with reliable data.

Q: C Teleport is exhibiting at Breakbulk Europe for the first time. What value do you envisage this event bringing to your company and which type of companies are you most looking forward to meeting?

MCB: We’re excited to be at Breakbulk Europe because it brings together the industries we increasingly support – mining, oil and gas, power, and renewables. These sectors often deal with high volumes of crew changes, remote project locations, and last-minute travel changes. It’s a chance to show how our platform helps manage complex travel operations with more control and less manual work. We’re especially looking to connect with companies still handling crew travel through emails or disconnected tools, because we’ve already helped others in similar situations move to a faster, more reliable process.

Breakbulk Europe 2025 is happening on 13-15 May at Rotterdam Ahoy. You can meet the C Teleport team at stand 2G91.
