Once again this year we were able to convince the jury with one of our most innovative transport solutions and take the first place at the annual BSK award ceremony. It was a very special project because it required teamwork, precision, innovation, know-how and the untiring commitment of our entire team. After all, extraordinary achievements only succeed if a well-rehearsed team pulls together and can rely on one another. We had the task of taking over, laying out and transporting the 400 tons generators, which were at a height of 13.4 m above their foundations, and placing one of the generators in the Neurath power plant.
This was preceded by a nearly one-year, detailed preparation with the use of CAD assembly and diverse transport simulations, route tests, static calculations, method statements, risk assessments and coordination appointments with authorities.
Particular challenges were the limited space available during the deployment inside the power plant, the NATO ramp for roll-on-roll-off loading and the restrictions on axle loads and clearance gauge for vehicle dimensions up to 105 m long x 4,68 m wide and 5,70 m height and a total weight of 798 tons.
