PORT OF HELSINKI is the busiest international passenger port in Europe, and the Port of Helsinki Ltd creates a seamless framework for sea traffic to destinations such as Tallinn and Stockholm.
The Port of Helsinki is also Finland’s leading general port for foreign trade. In 2022, the Port’s total cargo traffic was 15.2 million tonnes. Among the strengths of the port are extensive, frequent liner traffic, efficient infrastructure, good road and rail connections, and excellent services provided in cooperation with the port’s business partners. Responsibility for environmentally sustainable port operations is considered to be at the core of its daily work.
Together with its owner, City of Helsinki, the Port of Helsinki is committed to implementing the Carbon-neutral Helsinki 2035 action plan. These actions include e.g. equipping several additional berths with onshore power, offering auto-mooring, and extending low-emission pricing incentive programmes, among others.
