PORT OF MARSEILLE FOS

As a major player in international trade, the Port of Marseille handles close to 75 million tonnes of goods each year. Its diversified traffic ranges from liquid and dry bulk to containers, heavy lift and project cargo. Covering more than 10,000 hectares, the port offers extensive logistics and industrial areas, exceptional water depths and specialized equipment, making it a key Mediterranean hub for breakbulk operations. Dedicated terminals in Fos, experienced operators and deep-draft maritime access allow the safe handling of oversized and exceptional cargo.
Looking ahead, the outlook is particularly promising as a major new industrial cycle on the “Central Mole” – with five strategic projects reaching €12 billion in investment – is expected to generate highly specific heavy-lift flows and the arrival of pre assembled, extra large components required for the construction of these new plants, offering strong growth potential for the breakbulk sector.
