Tim van den Heuvel

Port Authority of Rotterdam

I’m Tim van den Heuvel, 24 years old and living in Zwijndrecht, near Rotterdam.

I studied industrial engineering and management at the Hogeschool in Rotterdam.

Since September 2022, I’ve been part of the Port of Rotterdam’s trainee program, where I am fulfilling various roles in the organization for two years.
I’ve worked as a project engineer on a lock, Sept 2022-Feb 2023. 

Since March 2023, I have been working as a project management officer at the Port Development Department on various port-related projects, such as construction of public infrastructure and land reclamation Maasvlakte 2.
Before my Port of Rotterdam journey I was employed at a large contractor in road construction for about a year.
