Alain Akavi is the Managing Director of COLI Schiffahrt & Transport Bremen GmbH.
Alain studied Business and Finance at Liverpool John Moores University. Prior to joining the shipping industry 16 years ago, he started his career in Commodity Trading & Logistics. Based in Germany, he leads a global team of brokers, project managers, logistic specialist and manages major accounts for the group. He joined the global board of directors in 2020.
COLI has been providing successful solutions for worldwide marine transportation of conventional, break bulk, heavy lift and project cargoes close to 50 years. They offer substantial market and project knowledge through their international offices, affiliates, and agent network. Their ambition is to provide made-to-measure and cost-efficient transportation for their most demanding requests of their customers.
Offshore wind has been experiencing exponential growth and projects are expected to ramp up, both in Europe and beyond. Yet, fleet capacity and the availability of assets must be considered in tandem with this increased activity. Speakers in this panel will assess the readiness of the supply chain to cope with increased demand and discuss how to contain the offshore boom to operate within these capabilities.
