Nalan Kursun is the Global Heavy Lift and Transformer Business Unit Transport & Logistics Leader at Hitachi Energy. She started her career as a trainee in a freight forwarding company in 1998, she supervised heavy cargo shipment’s at different ports in the world, she lead global teams, nevertheless never worked a day in her life thanks to her passion about logistics!  She loves the endless opportunity for growth, the cross cultural interactions, the chance of not reliving the same day even once. By sharing her passion about her job she aims to help breaking the bias and inspire the younger generations.

The Port of Rotterdam and the European Union play a pivotal role in Breakbulk across both Europe and the wider world. In the past, all the cargo handled at the Port of Rotterdam was breakbulk. Times have changed but Rotterdam, and the wider European community, still have a passion for breakbulk. Key to keeping this passion relevant in the future is empowering the next generation of Breakbulk professionals. This session will tackle both government and private sectors’ initiatives to empower the upcoming generation of industry professionals.
