Morten Nielsen is based in Aarhus, Denmark and has been working at Vestas since 2017, holding various positions all within the transport and logistics division. Morten has had multiple stints working at Vestas throughout his career and before joining Vestas in 2017, Morten spent time at Siemens Windpower.
Renewable energy projects continue to dominate the breakbulk sector and this trend is set to continue for many years. However, there is often a disconnect between wind technology manufactures and logistics solutions providers. This session will discuss whether the current transportation available is sufficient to meet the needs of the wind industry in terms of number of projects as well as the increasing size of cargo. fleet is able to transport increasingly larger turbines, challenge the current trend of increasingly larger wind turbines, and whether wind technology manufactures may need to invest in their own logistical solutions if they what to maintain the current rate of rapid turbine growth.
