Juergen Osmers began his career in the field of freight forwarding with an apprenticeship at Kuehne & Nagel in 1971. He transferred to New New York in 1974 and quickly became vice president and then branch manager. In 1981, Osmers formed KOG Transport with partner Rolf Gubler. Together with the entire KOG family, they brought an energy and enthusiasm to their work that made the company what it is today. He is particularly proud of the fact that the first customer from 1981 was still a customer 30 years later.
KOG Transport, Inc. was founded to provide project-related shipments for oil and gas industries in the Middle East. Today, it serves the freight-forwarding needs of project clients in the oil, gas, petrochemical, power, steel, and cement industries. As a result of the strong commitment to service and the support of their clients, KOG Transport has been able to grow in this niche segment of the freight-forwarding industry into a mid-size corporation with its own network of offices in key markets, with major centers in New York, Switzerland and Tokyo. In February 2015, Rolf Gubler and Juergen Osmers sold their interests in KOG WORLDWIDE AG to the Rhenus Group.
