Managing Director Allelys Group

Representing the second generation in the family business, David Allely studied mechanical and production engineering in college while working in the company machine shop. He next worked in the vehicle workshop and did some driving in European haulage and heavy haulage. Allely moved up to the general haulage traffic desk for two years, followed by four years controlling European transport operations He was then named manager of the heavy haulage division, where he spent the next 20 years surveying jobs, growing the customer base and solving route challenges. Since 2009, Allely has been developing the group’s projects business and serving as managing director with responsibility for projects, heavy and general haulage plus day-to-day operations.
 
Founded in 1959, The Allelys Group has grown into one of the largest specialist transport and project management companies in the UK. With more than 50 years’ experience, Allelys’ Project Division offers a complete “factory-to-foundation” service within the power generation, oil and gas, renewable energy and heavy projects industries in shipping, land transportation, heavy lifting and installation of abnormal and SODC project cargo. Allelys owns specialised equipment which includes three of the UK’s most modern and technically advanced Goldhofer Girderframe trailers, with the largest having the capacity to carry up to 500 tonnes by road.
